Vyjayanthi Movies, the banner which bankrolled the recent Telugu blockbuster hit Kalki 2898 AD, has released a video containing a special message from Kamal Haasan. The Nag Ashwin directorial achieved the ₹1000-crore milestone on 13 July.
The video, a special note from Kamal Haasan in the wake of the overwhelming success of Kalki 2898 AD, went viral soon after its launch on YouTube and social media.
In the video, which ran for over three minutes, the veteran actor said, “I’ve done about 250-odd films. One or two could have proved lazy but not all get this attention. When we do get such attention, we must celebrate. It’s just a nebulous state.
“We didn’t know what we were doing but we were so absorbed (in it) and made Yaskin together. He (Nag Ashwin) sculpted and chiselled Yaskin, while I brought the hammer. We hammered down a figure and shot…,” Kamal Haasan explained the painstaking efforts behind his character in the film, the Supreme Yaskin.
He further added, “When I looked at the getup, I would have flipped out of it and felt uneasy even then. But I got more and more excited as we planned. When the designs came, we went to LA (Los Angeles). This is all for one character. And there were some 10 characters like this.”
Kamal Haasan noted that some of the big stars came together to make this film. He observed that Kalki 2898 AD‘s UPS lies in the fact that it was more like a game that even a child could understand and play with. The actor said he found that child in Signeetham Sreenivasa Rao garu and now in Nag Aswhin.
“That child should be fostered and preserved by a filmmaker. That somehow Nag Ashwin has managed to do and the whole family (team) has managed to do,” Kamal underscored.

Kamal Haasan ended his special note saying that the audience can see more of Yaskin’s activities in the second part. He expressed his immense happiness at the success of the movie. “I’m not talking about the money but joy. If you’re happy with Kalki, then we’re happy (too)… Please celebrate with us.”

On 14 July, the makers released a special message from Prabhas. In the video, the pan-India actor thanked his fans and audiences for giving him such a huge success.
He also thanked director Nag Ashwin and producer Ashwini Dutt for delivering a film with high standards. Further, he extended thanks to all his co-stars in Kalki 2898 AD.

Meanwhile, the Prabhas-starrer crossed $17.5 million gross in North America on 14 July, thus becoming the second highest-grossing Indian film to date in the region.
The pan-India film also earned over ₹250 crore nett and is all likely to surpass SS Rajamouli’s 2022 blockbuster film RRR, which collected ₹274 crore nett.
Besides Prabhas, Kalki 2898 AD also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan, Disha Patani, and Shobana in pivotal roles. Santhosh Narayanan composed its music.
