In a tragic incident, a Traveling Ticket Examiner (TTE) was pushed to death by a handicapped drunk passenger in Kerala’s Thrissur on Tuesday, 2 April.
The deceased, K Vinod, was a popular name in the Malayalam film industry and he was very passionate about movies. He was in his mid-40s and a sincere officer.
A resident of Ernakulam, Vinod was delivering his duty as TTE in the Ernakulam-Patna Express. He asked the accused, identified as Rajnikanth — a native of Odisha, to exit at the next station as he did not buy a ticket.
However, the accused lost his temper and pushed Vinod out of the moving train.
The TTE’s remains were found under the rail-over-bridge near Mulankunnathukavu.
The incident happened after the departure of the Ernakulam-Patna Express from the Thrissur station.
Vinod played several small roles in Malayalam films like Nalla Nilavulla Rathri (2023), directed by Murphy Devassy.
Vinod debuted in Mollywood with Gangster (2014), headlined by Mammootty. He was the friend of Ashiq Abu, who directed the movie. In the film, the actor played the role of a key gang member.

Producer Sandra Thomas, who produced Nalla Nilavulla Rathri, took to Facebook to express her grief: “Shocking news of Mr. Vinod’s murder leaves me speechless. He starred in my last movie, ‘Nalla Nilavulla Rathri.’ May his soul rest in peace.”
Sandra also stated that she was devastated by Vinod’s death, who was a promising actor.
According to her, they both spoke recently and Vinod shared his enthusiasm about acting in movies.
