The decision to postpone the release date of Jr NTR’s much-anticipated film Devera is attributed to the delayed visual effects work.
It is learnt that the makers of Devara have chosen not to be hasty while committing to the quality product.
Sources close to the project said the meticulous approach, the intricate nature of the high VFX demands for the story, and NTR’s choice to bring out the best following the success of his last outing RRR (2022) have all added to the decision to push back the release date.
Despite the ongoing VFX works, approximately 20 days of further shooting remained.
Now, it is affected by Saif Ali Khan’s injury. The actor is playing a crucial role in Devara.
The release of Devara is now expected in the latter half of 2024.
The film was initially slated for release on 5 April. The teaser, unveiled on 8 January, received a positive response. The visually stunning teaser generated excitement in North India too.
Action drama Devara is directed by Siva Koratala and stars Jr Ntr in the lead while Saif Ali Khan and Prakash Raj play key roles. Set against coastal lands, Devara tells the story of emotional and action-packed events. It also marks Janhvi Kapoor’s debut in Telugu cinema.
Devara is produced by Sudhakar Mikkilineni and Kosaraju Harikrishna jointly.
The music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander. Sabu Cyril is the production designer. Sreekar Prasad is the editor. Rathnavelu is the cinematographer.
