Jr NTR’s Adhurs (2010) is one such film that never goes off your memory.

Unknowingly, the two identical characters in the movie — Narasimha and Chari — have been a constant supplier of almost every meme material that pops up on social media.

And to make fans reminisce about the fun riot of Jr NTR and Brahmanandam again on the big screen, the makers are planning to re-release the film.

Marking the 23-year journey of NTR in Tollywood, Adhurs is planned to be re-released on 18 November. Initially, it was slated for a re-release on 4 March. However, it didn’t happen.

Adhurs starred Nayanthara and Sheela Kaur as the leading ladies. It also featured an ensemble cast, including Sayaji Shinde, Nassar, and Tanikella Bharani. The music was composed by Devi Sri Prasad.

Directed by VV Vinayak and co-written by Kona Venkat, it was bankrolled by Vallabhaneni Vamsi Mohan.

Produced on a budget of ₹26 crore, the film collected a distributor share of ₹28-30 crore at the box office.

Plotline

The story revolves around twin siblings, played by Jr NTR, who get separated during birth. One child raised in an orthodox Brahmin family becomes a priest and the other raised by his mother becomes an undercover cop later in his life.

How the mix-up happens between them and how they reunite forms the crux of the plot.

Though Adhurs got a flop talk on the opening day, it caught up well with the NTR fans who raved about the story and the characters.

The hilarious comedy and punchlines on Brahmanandam in the flick were an instant hit among audiences who love the comedy segment.

Upcoming projects

As of now, Jr NTR is busy shooting Devara, a much-awaited venture under the direction of Siva Koratala. The action-packed drama recently completed shooting the crucial sequence.
