Two titans of two different film fraternities, Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR are coming together for one of the biggest action entertainers ever — War 2.
On Wednesday, 29 November, the makers announced the release date — 14 August 2025.
Now that the movie will be released on Thursday, there are high chances of it cashing in on the long weekend.
Meanwhile, reports suggest that the release date of War 2 has been planned strategically.
It is learnt that August has been chosen because it is likely to fetch the makers of War 2 good revenues due to extended holidays — in view of Independence Day — and with no competition from other big releases.
War 2 was actually planned for release on 25 January 2025. However, the makers changed the release date as there was not enough time to finish the post-production work.
War 2 is the sixth film in the YRF Spy Universe and is directed by Ayan Mukerji. The prequel, War (2029) was directed by Sidharth Anand.

Though people say good things about the movie, social media comments suggest that industry records will definitely be set because of the combination of Hrithik and Jr NTR.
There are certainly negative shades in the character played by NTR in War 2. Also, the film marks the debut of Jr NTR in Bollywood.
However, for the question of how his character will be portrayed, Jr NTR fans have not found the answers yet and they are all busy guessing.
But, for now, fans are happy that Jr NTR is planning to release a movie every year and aiming for a hat-trick with three movies this year.
Well, the Telugu star actor might achieve another blockbuster hit in the form of War 2. Let’s wait and watch!
The actor is currently working in Koratala Siva’s Devara. It will launch Bollywood actor Janhvi Kapoor in the Telugu film industry.
