brahmastra prerelease 3

Jr NTR is trending on social media after he expressed his absolute love for Bollywood actors Amitabh Bachchan and Ranbir Kapoor. He apologised to his fans for the last-minute cancellation of the pre-release event of Ranbir-Alia Bhatt starrer Brahmastra.

The netizens are sharing his videos with the hashtag #JrNTRforBrahmastra.

Jr NTR was the special guest for the grand pre-release event of Brahmastra that was to be held at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad on Friday, 2 September — but was cancelled at the last minute as police refused permission.

Following this, the RRR star spoke at the press conference arranged by the makers (with the help of Shreyas Media) at a five-star hotel in the evening. Renowned Telugu film director SS Rajamouli, Bollywood director Karan Johar, Ranbir, Alia, Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy shared the dais with him.

“Big B, Ranbir inspire me”

On the occasion, Jr NTR apologised to the public and the media, especially his fans, for cancelling the pre-release event due to the insufficient police force, in the wake of the ongoing Vinayaka Chaviti celebrations.

“I’ve liked many actors in the Indian film industry. But very few left a mark on me as an actor. I really enjoyed Amitabh Bacchhan sir’s intensity in every film of his. I’m a big fan of his intensity, his voice, his eyes, his feats, the way he stands, the way he swings his left hand,” Jr NTR said about Big B.

“Everything about Amit ji was very intense for me. After him, there is one actor with whom I got connected and it’s Ranbir. Every film of his has really inspired me as an actor. My favourite is Rockstar.”

The actor admitted that he often listens to the songs composed by AR Rahman for Rockstar. “But Ranbir’s role as a rockstar really left a mark on me and he too inspires me. I like the intensity with which he works for a movie,” he said.

Jr NTR was quick to add that Ranbir’s journey as an actor doesn’t stop with Brahmastra. “You have to go in search of the Brahmastra of acting and I pray that you achieve everything in your life.”

The Telugu actor was also all praise for Alia Bhatt. He defined her as one of the finest actors of this generation, a close friend of his and a “darling”.

He added that he likes to share his emotions with Rajamouli, Nagarjuna and Alia. “I still remember the conversations we had while we worked for RRR. Brahmastra will be another feather in her cap.”

‘We need to make better films’

Jr NTR thanked Karan Johar and Rajamouli for uniting two different film industries into one — Indian cinema. He also hoped that Karan achieves yet another milestone with Brahmastra.

He extended his best wishes to director Ayan Mukherji, Nagarjuna and other actors. He also expressed his admiration for Nagarjuna, especially his Bollywood venture Khuda Gawah.

“The film industry worldwide is facing a lot of pressure as the audience are looking for something more than what we’re delivering now. I believe that we perform better when we’re under pressure.”

“I think that the industry has to accept this challenge and make good and better films for our audiences. Let’s move forward and produce great movies,” he added.

Ranbir steals the show with his Telugu

At the press meet, Ranbir Kapoor revealed that he took tuitions for three days to learn the Telugu language to converse with the public at the pre-release. Apparently, SS Rajmouli insisted that he speak in Telugu at the event.

Since there was no public, Ranbir addressed the media in Telugu: “Andraikii namaskaaaram. Baagunnaara? Naa career lo biggest film Brahmastra, biggest event kuda ide. Manchi cinema ni encourage chese Telugu audience ki pedda thanks.”

(Hello everyone. How are you doing? Brahmastra is the biggest film in my career and this is the biggest pre-release event hosted for my movie. I wholeheartedly thank the Telugu audiences who keep encouraging good films).

Maa Brahmastra kuda andariki nacchutundi anukuntuannanu. Ikkadiki vachhina Akkineni fans andariki, Nandamuri fans andariki, Rajamouli gaaru fans andarki.. Brahmastra part 2 time ki Telugu inkaa baaga nerchukuntaanu,” he said.

(Hope you all will like our Brahmastra. For the fans of Nagarjuna, Jr NTR and Rajamouli, I promise you that I’d learn more Telugu for the promotion of the Telugu version of Brahmastra-2.)

Ranbir ended his speech by saying that humility is an artist’s greatest virtue, and it holds true in the case of Rajamouli, Nagarjuna and Jr NTR.

Who said what?

Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt sang a Telugu song from her upcoming film. Her pink salwar suit, sporting “Baby On Board” on the back, drew equal applause from the media and netizens.

Karan Johar thanked Jr NTR for his support in promoting the film. He also felt that it was time to call Brahmastra an “Indian film because we are all reaching every nook and corner of the country with our movie”.

Actor Nagarjuna said that the cast and crew made it easy for him to play such a role. “Ayan narrated to me the script four years back and I was really impressed. I think Rajamouli found his disciple in Ayan.”

He praised Mouni Roy for her incredible performance in Brahmastra and called Ranbir-Alia his friends-colleagues. He said that this will be the most significant and most-screened Indian film to be released worldwide, all thanks to Karan.

Director Rajamouli said that he really loves the passion Karan Johar has for his films. He extended his outright support to movies like Brahmastra as it is all about Indian culture, emotions and mythical stories.

The director felt that Nagarjuna, who wields Nandi Astra in the film, is a perfect choice for the character. He is presenting the Ranbir, Alia starrer in South India.
