There is a reason why the name of this IPL cricketer Nitish Kumar Reddy, is trending on social media.
Nitish, who represents the Hyderabad Sunrisers in the IPL, has become the latest sensation.
Hailing from the port city of Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh, this young promising cricketer has come to the fore for his scintillating knock this season.
His performance in the recent match against Punjab Kings, marked by an impressive 64 runs of 37 balls has sparked debates among fans.
Fans are commenting that he has the potential to set records if he enters the Indian team.
Interestingly, there’s a small connection between Nitish’s brilliant knock and a song from one of Pawan Kalyan’s movies.
Before going to the crease, Nitish Kumar listens to the song “Naaraaju Gakura Maa Annaya” from Pawan Kalyan’s debut directorial Johnny.
Though the Pawan Kalyan-starrer was a box-office dud upon its release in theatres in 2003, the catchy beat composed for the song by Ramana Gogula became popular.
In a viral interview clip, Nitish Reddy mentions how the “Naaraaju Gakura Maa Annaya” song pumps him up when he listens to the beats and lyrics. He says it gives him a sense of energy every time he steps onto the cricket field.
Interestingly, actor Naga Shaurya used the same song in his last outing Rangabali (2023), where he performed steps by imitating Pawan Kalyan.
It’s fascinating how inspiration can be drawn from even a less successful movie like Johnny.
Now, those fans who consider it a cult classic regardless of its outcome, are rejoicing how this young talent from Visakhapatnam drew inspiration from Pawan Kalyan’s flop film.
