Awestruck by the performance of Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga has revealed that he would have touched the feet of the actor for his stunning performance in the upcoming film Animal.

“But he is one year younger than me. He has all the patience. An exceptional talent and a humble man,” the Arjun Reddy (2017) director quipped.

The filmmaker was addressing the media during a promotional event held in Hyderabad on Monday, 27 November.

Animal features Ranbir Kapoor in a never-before-seen intense role.

The action romantic drama casts veteran actor Anil Kapoor as Ranbir Kapoor’s father.

Rashmika Mandanna is the female lead. Bobby Deol plays a crucial role.

During the press meet, Ranbir Kapoor spoke about his affection for Hyderabad. The actor reminisced about the promotions of his first movie Saawariya (2007), in the city.

Expressing happiness for the way Telugu audiences have been wanting to receive Animal, Ranbir said his desire to be embraced as an “adopted son” of the Telugu states.

Delving deep into the character he portrayed in the film, the actor expressed curiosity about the character’s childhood trauma and the boy’s obsession with his father.

“He is in deep love with his wife, Geethanjali. That is something that I aspire to in my life,” Ranbir Kapoor added.

Produced jointly by Bhushan Kumar and Pranay Reddy Vanga, Animal has a runtime of over 3 hours, making it the longest film in Ranbir’s career.

The movie is hitting the screens worldwide on 1 December.
