The actor's upcoming film with director Lijo Jose Pellisery, 'Nanpakal Nerath Mayakkam', is releasing on 19 January.

Malayalam actor Mammootty is on cloud nine after the massive success of his recent movies: The Priest, Bheeshma, CBI: The Brain, and Rorschach.
His latest movie Nanpakal Nerath Mayakkam will release on 19 January.
During a promotional event, the actor said: “I never reject doing challenging roles as I always try to get refined as an actor. During the discussions for the film (Nanpakal Nerath Mayakkam), I decided to produce it as its plot was different and the character was interesting.”
Citing examples of his previous movies, the actor revealed that he would do films like Bhootakkannadi, and Thaniyavarthanam without remuneration as the roles were challenging.
According to Mammootty, Nanpakal Nerath Mayakkam has characters from Kerala and Tamil Nadu, and their special bonding towards the end is interesting to watch. Local people also acted in the movie.
Nanpakal Nerath Mayakkam is produced under the Mammootty Kampany banner and written-directed by Lijo Jose Pellisery.
S Hareesh is the screenwriter and Theni Eswar is the cinematographer. The film also stars Ashokan and Remya Pandian in lead roles.
Meanwhile, Lijo Jose Pellichery is all set to work with Mohanlal in Malaikottai Valiban. The actor is playing the titular role in it.
The film is produced by John and Mary Creative, Maxlab, and Century Films.

Meanwhile, Mohanlal’s Alone, directed by Shaji Kailas, is releasing in theatres on 26 January. Mohanlal is the sole actor in this experimental movie.
Alone is the third movie of Shaji Kailas who earlier helmed Kaduva and Kaapa in 2022, both commercial hits. The story is set during the Covid pandemic.
Alone was initially meant to be released on an OTT platform. But the producers opted for a theatrical release.
The trailer received a good response from the audience. Rajesh Jayaraman is the story writer and Aashirvad Cinemas is its banner.
