Setting a new non-Rajamouli record, the new superhero fantasy flick of Teja Sajja — Hanu-Man (2024) — has collected more than what RRR had collected in North America on a Monday.

The film is witnessing mass hysteria in the US as Hanu-Man stood in the top three with $525,152 while Baahubali 2 (2017) and Salaar (2023) stood in second and first place respectively in terms of highest-grossing Telugu films on a Monday as reported on Monday, 15 January.

Further, the pan-India movie grossed ₹100 crore worldwide in just four days of its release and thereby emerged as the second highest-grossing Indian film in 2024. Its total collections in India are at ₹55.15 crore.

Hanu-Man director Prasanth Varma shared his happiness over making it to the ₹100-crore club. In his post on X, he wrote: “My first century in films…”

Hanu-Man’s trend seems to be shocking for trade pundits following its impressive word-of-mouth talk. People are flocking to theatres and multiplexes after it achieved a hit-talk at the box office following its release during the Sankranthi season.

The film also witnessed a blockbuster trend in the Hindi belt. On Sunday, Hanu-Man clocked a mighty $800,000+ at the US box office. It is next only to Baahubali 2 ($2,300,000) and RRR ($1,580,000) in terms of the highest Sunday collections in North America. It has beaten the tally of recent biggie Salaar ($772,000) too.

As no major films are releasing in Hindi until Hrithik Roshan’s Fighter scheduled on 25 January, Hanu-Man is likely to capitalise on the opportunity to rake in good revenues in the region.

Produced by Primeshow Entertainment, the film features Teja Sajja as the titular role of Hanumanthu while Amritha Aiyer plays the female lead. Other cast include actor Vinay Rai as the antagonist, Raj Deepak Shetty, Vennela Kishore, Satya and Getup Srinu in crucial roles.
