Kingston Label

Director Kamal Prakash’s Kingston, which its makers claim to be India’s first sea horror adventure film, went on the floors on Wednesday, 11 October.

Well-known actor-politician Kamal Haasan started the proceedings by clapping the board for the first shot.

On Tuesday, 10 October, Kamal Haasan unveiled the first-look poster of the film that features GV Prakash Kumar and Divya Bharathi in the lead roles.

The other cast of the movie includes Merku Thodarchi Malai-fame Antony, Chethan, Kumaravel, and Malayalam actor Sabumon.

Gokul Benoy is handling the cinematography. GV Prakash Kumar is composing the music. Dhivek is penning the dialogues. San Lokesh is handling the editing.

SS Moorthy is the art director. Dhilip Subbarayan is the action choreographer.

Kingston is a sea-adventure horror tale produced by Zee Studios in association with GV Prakash Kumar’s Parallel Universe Pictures.

Addressing the gathering, director Kamal Prakash said, “It isn’t that common to be allowed to write and direct a dream script like Kingston for a newbie filmmaker like me. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to GV Prakash and Zee Studios for completely trusting my vision. I look forward to making this a reality with the support of our talented cast and crew!”

Producer-actor-music director GV Prakash Kumar revealed that it had been his lifelong dream to become a producer, and he was waiting for the proper story.

“After listening to the script of Kingston, I was confident that it would appeal to the interests of audiences ranging from kids to adults. I immediately decided to produce it and commissioned the process.”

He added, “The starting moment of any film project needs to be special. I am privileged and blessed to have our ‘Ulaga Nayagan’ Kamal Haasan launch my production house. Everyone has encouraged and shown his/her love and support for my journey as a music director and actor. Now, I need the same for my new venture as a producer. Thank you all.”

Motion poster of Label released

India’s leading streaming platform Disney+ Hotstar on Wednesday, 11 October, released the first motion poster of ace director Arunraja Kamaraj’s eagerly-awaited web series — Label.

The series features Jai and Tanya Hope in the lead. Interestingly, Label is director Arunraja Kamaraj’s first web series.

The production of this ‘Hotstar Specials’ web series has been handled by Muthamizh Padaippagam. The music is by Sam CS and the cinematography is by Dinesh Krishnan B.

The screenplay is by Arunraja Kamaraj. The additional screenplay and dialogues are penned by Jayachandra Hashmi.

Raja Arumugam is the editor and Vinoth Rajkumar is the art director.

Four lyricists — Yugabharathi, Mohan Raja, Logan and director Arunraja Kamaraj himself — penned the songs for the series.

Azhar is the choreographer and Sakthi Saravanan is the stuntman.

Label also features Mahendran, Harishankar Narayanan, Charan Raj, Sriman, Ilavarasu, and Suresh Chakravarthy in key roles.
