Vijay and Meenakshi Chaudhary in 'Sparkle' song from the upcoming film, 'GOAT'. (X)
A new song titled “Spark” from Venkat Prabhu’s The Greatest of All Time (The GOAT) has been released, but Vijay’s de-aged appearance and Yuvan Shankar Raja’s composition have received mixed reviews online.
“Spark”, a catchy dance number featuring Vijay and Meenakshi Chaudhary, is sung by Yuvan Shankar Raja and Vrusha Balu, with lyrics by Gangai Amaran, the multifaceted father of director Venkat Prabhu.
On X (formerly Twitter), users criticised Vijay’s de-aged look with memes and sarcastic comments.
GOAT is Vijay’s 68th film as an actor and his first collaboration with director Venkat Prabhu. This sci-fi thriller showcases the actor in dual roles as father and son.

Despite mixed reactions to “Spark”, the film is anticipated to draw a significant audience from Vijay’s fan base.
GOAT is Vijay’s first film following his political debut and the formation of his party, Tamizhaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK).
The ensemble cast of the film includes Prashanth, Ajmal Ameer, Sneha, Laila, Prabhudeva, Mohan, and Jayaram, along with Venkat Prabhu’s frequent collaborators Vaibhav, Premgi, and Aravind Akash. The late actor and politician Vijayakanth will appear using AI technology.
GOAT, produced by Archana Kalpathi under the AGS Entertainment banner, features cinematography by Siddhartha Nuni, editing by Venkat Raajen, art direction by Rajeevan, and action choreography by Dileep Subbarayan.
Although the Vijay starrer, was anticipated to have a grand audio launch, recent updates suggest otherwise. Director Venkat Prabhu noted that the decision would depend on the actor-politician, but it appears GOAT will forgo the major pre-release event, disappointing fans who were looking forward to Vijay’s speech.
Hearsay is that the makers’ decision may have been influenced by the negative reception to the film’s songs, “Whistle Podu” and “Spark”, as well as personal challenges, including the recent untimely death of Yuvan Shankar Raja’s sister, singer Bhavatharini. The makers are yet to officially acknowledge these developments.
