Vikrant Rona
Inspector Vikrant Rona (Kichcha Sudeep) gets posted in a village called Kamarattu, located in a thick forest. While on his way to take charge, an accident takes place and Vikrant, along with his daughter, reaches the police station on foot.
Meanwhile, he comes across a few suspicious activities happening in the forest. After joining duty, Vikrant learns that his predecessor was killed.
In another track, Janardhan Gambhir, a resident of Kamarattu, is happy with the return of his son Sanju who went missing decades ago. There’s an old bungalow in the forest, which is kept closed since the day Sanju went missing.
The villagers believe that a brahmarakshasa (demon) living in the bungalow is killing people in the village and those entering the forest area. But, nobody ever saw the rakshasa and there’s no proof either.
How Vikrant Rona succeeds in solving this mystery and finds the culprit forms the crux of the storyline.
Vikrant Rona is a 3D picture and it is all about special effects. It has top-notch visuals and sound design. Most of the film is shot in the dark, as the action predominantly takes place during the night.
The camera work is amazing. The music and background score by Ajaneesh Loknath have taken the film to another level. The production values are high.
The movie’s story has been written well by director Anup Bhandari.
There’s no lag in the screenplay and there are no boring scenes. Every scene in the film is worth all your time.
Coming to the performances, Sudeep has done an amazing job. He shines bright. His expressions, stunts and action sequences are top-notch.
He proved his mettle in his earlier films and is known as a terrific performer.
Jacqueline dazzles in a special appearance. Her song gives the audience a break from the thrilling aspects of the film.
Vikrant Rona is a high-budget film (₹95 crore) from the Kannada industry, which is otherwise known for mostly producing small- and medium-budget projects.
It’s been a long time since such a good thriller was released in Kannada and Vikrant Rona is sure to set the cash registers ringing at the box office.
The film has been released worldwide in multiple languages – Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Hindi and English.
