The union of various Dr Vishnuvardhan fans associations has decided to hold a huge protest demanding for a memorial to be also built at the very place where the legendary actor was cremated in Bengaluru.

The protest will be held on 17 December at Freedom Park in Bengaluru.

According to Veerakaputra Srinivas, along with the members from various Dr Vishnuvardhan fans associations, various other pro-Kannada associations, Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce, Kannada Artists Association and others will be taking part in the association.

The union held a meeting on Monday, 28 November, where it expressed displeasure against the state government for not taking any measures to develop the piece of land where Dr Vishnuvardhan was cremated.

The actor, who passed away in December 2009, was cremated in Abhiman Studio in Bengaluru.

Following the land dispute, a grand memorial was eventually built near Mysuru. It was inaugurated in January 2023.

However, Dr Vishnuvardhan fans have been visiting Abhiman Studio on the occasion of the actor’s birth and death anniversaries.

Lately, they allege that there have been restrictions for entry at the Abhiman Studio.

The fan associations state that no action has been taken despite submitting a memorandum to the State government to resolve the issue. Hence, they resolved to hold the protest on 17 December.
