Devil marks a milestone film in Nandamuri Kalyan Ram’s career. It is an ambitious project set against the backdrop of the British era in the 1940s.
Despite its intriguing teaser and trailer, the movie has faced controversy regarding the writing and direction credits for several months. As the release date approaches, the topic has come to the fore again.
Naveen Medaram was initially named the director of this movie. But, when the teaser was launched, film buffs were surprised to know it was directed by Abhishek Nama.
At the time of the release of the film, the producer Abhishek Nama himself became the director. People don’t understand how a producer who has no experience in writing and directing has become a director.
Similarly, Srikanth Vissa, who was not involved previously in the project, claimed full script credit ahead of the release of Devil.

Even though Naveen Medaram’s name was dropped as the director when the teaser was launched, his name was there in the technical team. But later it was completely removed from the project.
On Wednesday, 27 December, Naveen Medaram put up an emotional post saying he is the director of the movie Devil and that he handled everything from the script stage. He shot this movie for 105 days in different locations.
Naveen wrote that he would treat Devil like his child. He said he had to step down from the position of director because of the ego of some people.
However, he heaped praise on Kalyan Ram and hoped that the project would bring success to hero Kalyan Ram.
Naveen also stated that he is currently working on another project and is busy with script writing.
Abhishek Nama and other Devil team members are yet to react to Naveen Medaram’s post.
