Malayalam actor Dhyan Sreenivasan is the brother of Vineeth Sreenivasan — an actor, director, and singer. Their father Sreenivasan is a successful actor and scriptwriter.
Dhyan has delivered quite a good number of films in his career. But none of them worked at the box office.
All his recent releases — Khali Purse of Billionaires, Higuita, and Jailer, — ended up as box office duds.
Except for Udal (2022), other films released last year, including Veekam (2022) and Sayanna Varthakal (2022) bombed at the box office.
However, his latest outing Nadikalil Sundari Yamuna evoked a good response from the audience, though it didn’t go down well with the critics.
The movie is a comedy entertainer where Dhyan’s camaraderie with his co-actor Aju Varghese did wonders.
Currently basking in the success of the flick, Dhyan Sreenivas addressed the media in Kochi on Sunday, 17 September.
The actor said, “Our film targeted the family audience. But it feels good to hear that youngsters too are enjoying it.”

Funny remark
Nadikalil Sundari Yamuna is gaining traction and ran houseful in several theatres during the weekend.
Celebrating this, on Sunday, Dhyan put up a Facebook post saying, “Bomb defused, and one movie running in theatres”.
Well, being known as an “actor with many flops”, Dhyan took a hilarious jibe at himself through the social media post.
When asked if he could give more hits if there’s good content, the actor replied diplomatically: “This movie would have been a hit even if someone else had done the lead role.”
Interestingly, while addressing a promotional event recently, Dhyan Sreenivasan said he was a part-time actor and asked the audiences to check for clues in his promotional interviews to know the fate of his movies.
The Malayalam actor also revealed that after hearing the script, he would tell the makers if the movie would or wouldn’t work in theatres.
Citing a few examples where Dhyan Sreenivasan was interviewed by many YouTube channels for movie promotions, actor Aju Varghese said, “Clickbait culture is not good.”
He wondered why there wasn’t any mention of the movie (that is meant to be promoted) in the thumbnails of the videos.

Finds fault with Alencier Lopez
On the occasion, Dhyan Sreenivasan was also vocal about the controversial remark made by actor Alencier Lopez at the 53rd Kerala State Film Awards ceremony.
“Alencier is a good friend and an elder brother to me. But there was no need for him to receive the award and make such a misogynistic statement. He could boycott the award. But he received it and made such a statement, which was something more of a publicity stunt after getting a stage to speak,” Dhyan pointed out.
When asked why any film bodies like FEFKA or AMMA didn’t react to Alencier’s statement, Dhyan clarified that he wouldn’t comment on that since it’s up to the respective bodies.
It may be noted here that veteran actor Alencier, after receiving the Special Jury Award, asked the film bodies not to tempt awardees by giving away “women” trophies.
“In a State with a ‘manly’ Chief Minister, give us a sculpture with (that depicts) man’s strength. I will stop acting when such awards (men’s trophies) are given,” Alencier said.
He also sought for a hike in the prize money.
