The Kannada film industry is known for experiments of various kinds, and most of them aim at achieving technical excellence in filmmaking.

In one such experiment, the makers of Devara Aata Ballavararu (None Are Aware of What God Has in Store) are in the process of setting a new record in filmmaking.

The entire team, helmed by director Janardhana P Johnny, are attempting a unique feat to enter the Guinness Book of World Records.

Fastest film set

The film unit recently announced that they are attempting a record by concluding the entire process of filmmaking in one month, including the release to set a Guinness record.

As part of it, the team began its journey by erecting a film set in less than 24 hours — 22 hours 24 minutes and 58 seconds, to be precise.

“On 20 June, we erected a 150x80x19 feet set at Madikeri where the shooting is in progress. The lavish film set was constructed in less than 24 hours by National Award-winning art director Balachandran and his team. More than 180 people worked together to make it possible,” explained director Janardhana P Johnny.

A team of judges who monitored the construction process will share the related videos with the Guinness Book of World Records, who would take a call on adjudging the feat.

To be shot in 30 days

Well-known for Pirangipura (2021) starring National Award-winning actor late Sanchari Vijay, director Janardhana P Johnny said that his latest action-thriller Devara Aata Ballavararu is set in 1975.

“We are also attempting to create a record by completing the entire process of the film in a month (30 days). This includes the release of the film. My team and I have been working relentlessly for the past six months to achieve this unique feat. The entire movie will be shot in Madikeri.”

Since 16 June, the team underwent rigorous training for five days to make necessary preparations — right from constructing the set to releasing the movie as per schedule.

“Post preparation and training, the shooting will be completed within 16 days. After ticking off every process of filmmaking, we plan to release the movie on 20 July. Six judges will monitor our performance throughout,” Janardhana P Johnny elucidated.

Devara Aata Ballavararu stars Arjun Ramesh, Sindhu Loknath, Varsha Vishwanath, Sampath Ram, Arjun, and Medini Kelamane.

Actor Arjun Ramesh — of Shani (a popular Kannada TV serial) fame — said he lost 14 kgs in just two months to play the lead role in the flick. He added that the tagline of Deva Aata Ballavararu — Every Human has a Devil Inside — sums up the movie perfectly.
