Director Mahi V Raghav released his film Yatra 2 on Thursday, 8 February; exactly 5 years after the release of the prequel Yatra. Like its predecessor, the sequel is based on the theme of Padayatra in the life of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister late YS Rajasekhara Reddy. The film received mixed reviews on its first day. However, it garnered good openings at the box office. Malayalam Superstar Mammootty played the late YS Rajasekhara Reddy in the film. Tamil actor Jiiva nailed the role of AP CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. Ketaki Narayan played YS Bharathi, Jagan's wife.
