The arrest of the Kannada actor for allegedly orchestrating a murder has reportedly shocked his family, friends, and fans.

In a surprising development, Vijayalakshmi, the wife of Kannada superstar Darshan
Thoogudeepa has reactivated her Instagram account. This follows the arrest of the renowned actor for his alleged involvement in the death of Renukaswamy, a 33-year-old pharmacy employee. Previously, Vijayalakshmi had deactivated her Instagram and unfollowed all accounts, including her husband’s.
The arrest of Darshan for allegedly orchestrating a murder has reportedly shocked his family, friends, and fans. Since his arrest, none of his relatives, including his brother and film director Dinakar Thoogudeepa, or his mother Meena Thoogudeepa, have visited him.
However, Vijayalakshmi is back on Instagram. Upon reactivation, she erased all previous posts and unfollowed all users. She kept her original username, Viji Darshan, and her bio still identifies her as ‘Vijayalakshmi Darshan,’ though she removed her profile picture and all previous content.
Recently, Vijayalakshmi’s legal representative, Anil Babu, informed the media that she was distressed not only by Darshan’s arrest but also by numerous news portals referring to Pavithra Gowda as his wife.
Vijayalakshmi is legally married to Darshan, and she believes the media should avoid mislabelling Pavithra Gowda in this manner, Anil Babu said.
Vijayalakshmi and Darshan, married since 2003, have a son. Their relationship encountered difficulties in the past, particularly in 2011 when Darshan faced allegations of assaulting Vijayalakshmi, resulting in significant injuries. However, she subsequently withdrew the case, and the couple patched up their differences.

The reactivation of Vijayalakshmi’s Instagram account suggests she may soon comment on the ongoing case that has garnered widespread attention from the public and media.
Due to the court’s closure on Sunday (16 June) and Monday (17 June) for Bakrid, a public holiday, the police opted to present them before Judge Vishwanath C Goudar.
As a result, Darshan, Gowda, and others will remain in police custody until 20 June.
According to several reports, Darshan’s former manager Mallikarjun has been missing for over seven years. Given Darshan’s murder charges, the disappearance of Mallikarjun is now being viewed with suspicion.
Mallikarjun served as Darshan’s manager for a short period, handling his film schedules and other responsibilities. However, he faced financial setbacks due to investments in film production and distribution, accumulating substantial debts to multiple individuals, including renowned actor Arjun Sarja, who reportedly lent him ₹1 crore.
