Writer, director and producer Simple Suni has roped in Vinay Rajkumar for his next venture, a musical romantic saga.

Sunil Kumar N initially worked as an assistant director with veteran filmmaker Dinesh Baboo and later debuted as an independent director with Simple Agi Ondh Love Story, which turned out to be a huge success.
Since then, he is popularly known as Simple Suni. Made on a moderate budget, the film also shot actor Rakshit Shetty to fame.
In an exclusive interview with South First, director Simple Suni talks about his upcoming projects, including the yet-to-be-titled one, for which he has roped in Vinay Rajkumar, the grandson of Kannada thespian Dr Rajkumar.
“We have completed almost 75 percent of the shoot for Gathavaibha, which will be my first-ever fantasy romantic drama. Meanwhile, I have taken up another project, which is yet to be titled, starring Vinay Rajkumar. It is being produced by Mysuru Ramesh of Yeddelu Manjunatha fame and a few others,” Simple Suni said.

The film Gathavaibhava, marks the debut of another prominent politician’s son, Dushyanth Servegara Srinivas, in movies. He is the son of JD(S) leader and MLA from Gubbi SR Srinivas, a former primary and secondary education minister in Karnataka.
“Gathavaibhava is a fantasy drama in which the protagonist is a graphic designer. It has a different kind of making from an imaginative angle and travels through various characters such as Vasco da Gama and a few other surprising elements,” Simple Suni said.
“I cannot reveal much about the presence of the Portuguese explorer but I hope it will entertain the audience,” he added. The film has Ashika Ranganath as the female lead.

While Gathavaibhava is an ongoing project that has some pending work, the director has announced his next with Vinay Rajkumar.
The director revealed that it will be a musical romantic saga. “The subject was such that everything fell into place. We will start the film in February,” he said.
Vinay Rajkumar is ready with Pepe, his next release. Gramayana and Andondittu Kaala are other projects in his kitty.

Simple Suni, who also announced two big-budget ventures with Dr Shiva Rajkumar and Ganesh, said the projects will be taken up when everything is in place and streamlined. The movies demand his full-time involvement and a huge budget.
The film, Manamohaka will star Shiva Rajkumar, and the Story of Raigad, which is based in Kazakhstan, stars Ganesh in the lead. Simple Suni also has the sequel to his Avatara Purusha coming up for release this year.
Simple Suni believes that the Kannada film industry is back in the limelight because of its content and making.
“I’m happy that Kannada filmmakers and artists are recognised and respected everywhere these days,” he signed off.
