Not everyone can make a cut in the film industry. Even with the boastful backup of big banners, the word success is sometimes still an elusive dream for a few actors.

Telugu actor Santosh Shoban’s brother Sangeeth Shoban, who scored a hit with his debut film MAD, has become the talk of the town now. The film is running to packed houses in all centres, including overseas.

And guess what? Actor Sangeeth and his co-stars have been trending on Twitter since the opening day (6 October) of MAD.

Netizens are drawing comparisons to how luck played a part in deciding the actor’s career and are praising his impressive performance in the flick.

They are also comparing MAD with Naveen Polishetty’s Jathi Ratnalu (2021), as both films share quite a few humorous punchlines.

Among all the Friday releases at the Telugu box office, Mad has picked up pace with word-of-mouth talk. Trade pundits predicted that MAD would stay in theatres for a few more weeks.

A smashing hit

Almost all other films that were released last week have been replaced with the humongous success of MAD.

It dominated at the box office and edged out all other films by grossing ₹8.4 crore in just three days.

Sangeeth Shoban is being raved for his impressive performance as DD in the film. After making his OTT debut with Oka Chinna Family Story (2021), the actor scored a smashing hit with MAD.

The film also stars Narne Nithin, Sangeeth Shobhan, Ram Nithin, Sri Gouri Priya Reddy, Ananathika Sanilkumar, and Gopikaa Udyan.

It is directed by Kalyan Shankar and produced jointly by Haarika Suryadevara & Sai Soujanya under the banners of Haarika & Hassine Creations and Sithara Entertainments.

Balakrishna plays his age in Bhagavanth Kesari

The trailer of Bhagavanth Kesari, the much-anticipated movie of Nandamuri Balakrishna has created intense euphoria among fans.

As is quite evident by his swag and onscreen image, the actor will certainly make cars fly in the air — the regular and run-of-the-mill troops for any of his movies.

But the question is will Balakrishna play his age? Well, it looks like the star is being portrayed as a middle-aged father who is determined to prepare his daughter for a serious battle.

Directed by Anil Ravipudi, Bhagavanth Kesari is produced by Sahu Garapati and Harish Peddi under Shine Screens.

It stars Nandamuri Balakrishna and Kajal Aggarwal in the lead roles. Sreeleela, Arjun Rampal, R Sarathkumar, Raj Tirandasu, Sriram Reddy Polasane, and Sanjay Krishna will play prominent roles. It is set for release on 19 October.

Mama Mascheendra to hit OTT on 20 October

Sudheer Babu’s latest action drama, Mama Mascheendra (2023), is likely to make its OTT debut. Surprisingly, the film was released in theatres on 6 October.

Netizens are surprised to know that the movie will be available for streaming on Amazon Prime from 20 October, just 15 days after its theatrical release. The decision to release it so early on OTT has been taken in view of the negative reviews the film received post its release.

Since it garnered a flop talk at the box office, the collections took a beating and the makers sold the OTT rights to Amazon Prime.

Starring Sudheer Babu, Eesha Rebba, and Mirnalini Ravi in the lead, Mama Mascheendra also casts Harsha Vardhan, Ali Reza, Rajeev Kanakala, Hariteja, Ajay, and Mirchi Kiran in key roles.

The music is composed by Chaitan Bharadwaj,

The film is produced by Sree Venkateswara Cinemas and Srishti Celluloid.
