R Parthiban has announced that he would be directing three films in 2023.

The first has been titled 52am Pakkathil Oru Mayiliragu. The title poster was released some time ago. It features the sketch of a man and a woman running together. The next project is Andal. More details about these films and the third project are awaited.

Meanwhile, Parthiban’s directorial venture Iravin Nizhal (2022) is one of the nine movies — apart from RRR and Kantara — in the running for the Oscars in the Best Feature Film category.

Iravin Nizhal, an independent thriller, is considered the world’s first single-shot non-linear film. It features Brigida, Parthiban, Priyanka Ruth, and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar in the main roles.

**First look of Wolf on 18 January**

The first look of Prabhu Deva’s 60^th film — Wolf — being directed by Cinderella-fame Vinoo Venkatesh will be unveiled on Wednesday, 18 January. It is a pan-Indian film being produced by Sandesh Nagaraj under the banner of Sandesh Productions.

In 2022, Prabhu Deva appeared in two Tamil movies: Poikkal Kudhirai and My Dear Bhootham.

Sandesh Nagaraj is a Kannada producer who bankrolled films with Ambaresh and Darshan.

Jigarthanda Double X shoot wrapped up

Director Karthik Subbaraj wrapped up the shoot of Jigarthanada Double X, starring Raghava Lawrence and SJ Suryah, in a single schedule.

Suryah posted this news on his social media account and also shared his experience working with Karthik.

Karthik teamed up with Suryah for Iraivi in 2016. The film also featured Vijay Sethupathi and Bobby Simha in lead roles. Bobby Simha bagged the National Award in the best supporting actor category for his role in Jigarthanda (2014).

Karthik’s production house Stone Bench entered the Malayalam industry in 2021 with director Jithin Issac Thomas’ Attention Please. Vishnu Govind, who acted in Attention Please, is essaying an important role in Jigarthanada Double X, too.

The director-producer’s previous outing Mahaan with Vikram and Dhruv Vikram was a direct OTT release. Meanwhile, he is all set to bankroll Jithin Issac’s upcoming film Rekha starring Vincy Sony and Unni Lalu.
