Writer B Jeyamohan, in an interview with a YouTube channel, revealed the premise of Kamal Haasan’s forthcoming film Indian 2.
While the original, Indian (1996), was about Senapathy and his son, Indian 2 is about Senapathy and his father. The movie is set in the pre-Independence era (1920s), he said.
Elaborating on the difficulties faced by Kamal, who has to don prosthetic makeup for Indian 2, Jeyamohan stated that it became impossible to have a good meal with the makeup on.
Hence, Kamal survived on juices during the shoot. The actor kind of starved and the juices helped him stay hydrated, he added.
Meanwhile, female lead Rakul Preet Singh disclosed that Kamal Haasan came to the location at 5 am every day and then sat for four continuous hours to get the makeup done.
After packing up, he was the last to leave the location, thanks to the makeup, she added.
Kamal Haasan won his third National Award for Best Actor for Indian, which also was directed by S Shankar.

The 20th year in filmdom seems quite special for Trisha Krishnan. Unlike the previous years, the actor made a comeback of sorts through Mani Ratnam’s blockbuster hit PonniyinSelvan 1.
Marking her 20 years in filmdom, the actor posted a picture of her holding a memento in the shape of the number “20” with the caption “Thank You”. The memento had the tagline “20 Years of Trisha Krishnan”.
Trisha made her screen debut as a supporting actor in Prasanth and Simran starrer Jodi (1999).
However, she became an overnight sensation with Ameer’s directorial debut MounamPesiyadhe (2002), where Suriya played the male protagonist.
She went on to deliver huge hits in Tamil like Ghilli, Saamy, Mankatha, and Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya, besides Athadu and Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana in Telugu.
In Kollywood, she mostly paired with actors Vijay, Vikram, and Ajith.
Owing to competition from the likes of Nayanthara and Kajal Aggarwal, she appeared in fewer films.
However, Trisha continued to spring surprises like ‘96 (2018) with Vijay Sethupathi. It brought her back to the limelight.
She made her Malayalam debut opposite Nivin Pauly in Hey Jude (2018) and in Hindi with Khatta Meetha in 2010. This year, she charmed viewers as Kunduvai in Ponniyin Selvan 1.
