Costumer designer Stephy Xaviour is turning director; Jayam Ravi celebrated his 42nd birthday & Kamal Haasan thanked fans for Vikram's 100-day run.

Music composer Sam CS has hit Bollywood with a bang with his musical score in the upcoming Hindi film Vikram Vedha (a remake of a Tamil film with the same name). The theme music in the trailer of the Hindi movie, starring Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan in the lead roles, has caught the fancy of music lovers.
It was Vikram Vedha (Tamil) that gave him the much-needed hit to propel his career as a music director. And now, the Hindi version is taking him to a national level.
This is not the first time that Sam has worked in a Hindi film. He composed the music for Rocketry: The Nambi Effect starring Madhavan. In fact, Madhavan had acted in Vikram Vedha and this led to both coming together for Rocketry.
His background score for the Tamil web series Suzhal impressed the viewers. Sam CS also worked for the OTT release Saani Kaayidham featuring director Selvaraghavan and Keerthy Suresh.

Puriyatha Puthir, NOTA, and Ispade Rajavum Idhaya Raniyum are some of the works of Sam CS, but Kaithi starring Karthi was well-appreciated. It was directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj who went on to direct Kamal Haasan’s Vikram.
Lokesh brought in Kaithi music as there is a reference to the character “Dilli Babu” and the cop. Reports say that Lokesh, after working on Vijay’s forthcoming film, will start a sequel to Kaithi. The movie had no songs but only background music.
Sam also composed music for a Vietnamese film directed by action choreographer Peter Hein.
Speaking about the Hindi Vikram Vedha, Sam said: “The film is scaled at a different level. The main theme (the popular hook line) might remain the same. The main hook line of the original does not just play during mass moments. The instrumentation is important. In Hindi, it is completely different.”
Costume designer Stephy Xaviour, who won the Kerala State Award, is turning director. She is making a film with Pathanamthitta region in Kerala as its backdrop. She is well-known for her work in films like Angamali Diaries and Love Action Drama (Nivin Pauly and Nayanthara).
Her debut movie has Rajisha Vijayan and Sharafuddin in the lead roles. Hridhyam-fame Hashim is the music director.
Rajisha shared the screen space with Ravi Teja in the Telugu film Ramarao on Duty and with Dhanush in the Tamil film Karnan. She is currently acting in Karthi’s Sardar. In the Malayalam film Malayankunju, she was paired opposite Fahad Faasil.
Meanwhile, Sharafuddin is part of a Malayalam film, which is said to be a comeback for actress Bhawana.

An Instagram post by Brindha Shivakumar, sister of Suriya-Karthi and daughter of actor Shivakumar, had tons of accolades pouring in.

Jayam Ravi celebrated his 42nd birthday by hosting an event to help differently-abled children.
Ravi recalled that his father Editor Mohan (producer of many Telugu-Tamil films) told him that the number of films we make doesn’t matter but the content matters. This is why he did only 23 films in a career spanning 20 years.
He added that his filmography will show that he has only a few flop films to his credit. Wife Aarthi also took part in the function. Jayam Ravi will be seen in Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan-1, which is releasing on 30 September.
Meanwhile, Kamal Haasan posted a video on Twitter, marking the 100th day of his latest release Vikram. He thanked the viewers for liking the film. He also thanked Lokesh and the film crew.
