Mohanlal-Trisha’s RAM shoots in London

During the worst days of the Covid pandemic, the Malayalam film Drishyam 2 released on an OTT platform and received a great deal of appreciation from the viewers. In fact, it sort of propelled OTT growth in this part of the world. Later, the film’s Telugu version too had an OTT release.

The Drishyam 2 team of director Jithu Joseph and Mohanlal have now started work on a bilingual film, titled RAM. The film had been languishing, bogged down by financial problem. Thankfully, those problems have been sorted out and the team is in London for a shoot.

Mohanal posted on Instagram a photo of him in front of a Dodge 1500 classic pick-up vehicle from the automobile company RAM. Formerly known as the Ram Truck Division (of Chrysler), this vehicle is known as the Rolls Royce of trucks.

Meanwhile, several Mohanlal films are awaiting release: Monster, directed by Vyshakh, Alone by Shaji Kailas, and a segment directed by Priydarshan for an anthology series to be released by Netflix.

A film directed by Anoop Satyan and Vivek, and a sequel to Lucifer are waiting to start pre-production. Mohanlal’s first directorial film Barozz, too, is more than 50 percent complete.

After the huge critical and popular acclaim for his portrayal of Aditha Karikalan in Mani Ratnam’s modern classic  Pooniyin Selvan-1, Chiyaan Vikram is all set to start work on a Pa Ranjith film.

From 10 October, just days after the hectic promotions for PS-1 ended, he will start work on the film directed by Pa Ranjith and produced by Studio Green Gananvel.

Sai Pallavi is said to be the heroine and the story is believed to be centered on the Kolar gold fields. Pallavi’s knowledge of Kannada language would be put to good use.

While the hugely successful KGF series focused on the underworld of the Kolar gold fields, Pa Ranjith deals with how Tamils migrant workers, through their blood and sweat, built Kolar town while working in the gold mines. And how their lands were usurped and they were chased out of the town.
