Chimbu Devan, Arivazhagan and Vasantha Balan, the three sishyas of renowned director Shankar are coming together to shoot the remaining portions of Indian 2.

Yes, you read it right. Shankar had recently tweeted that he would work simultaneously on Kamal Haasan’s Indian 2 and Ram Charan Tej’s RC15. The announcement took everyone by surprise since working simultaneously on two different projects involves several logistical issues.

However, it now came to light that the three former associates of Shankar have come forward to join the sets of Indian 2, while Shankar helms RC15.

As per the arrangement, the trio will shoot all the scenes that do not have Kamal. But once Kamal joins the rest of the cast, directors Myskkin and Atlee – who are touted to be Shankar’s favourites – would help him finish the shoot.

The current schedule of RC15 will end by September-end and thus 90 per cent of the movie will be ready.

Director Atlee, who is helming SRK–Nayanthara’s Jawan, planned a schedule in Chennai for a song sequence. Choreographer Lalitha Shobi, who was introduced by SS Rajamouli through his Telugu flick Maryada Ramanna, would compose dance for the song.

Last year, she won the Kerala State Award for Sufiyum Sujathayum. After finishing Jawan, Atlee will join the Indian 2 sets.

Meanwhile, director-actor SJ Suriya joined the cast of Ram Charan’s RC15 recently. Kiara Advani and Anjali are playing key roles in the movie. S Thaman is the music director.

Aditha Karikalan, Vandiyathevan catch netizens’ fancy

Ponniyin Selvan-1 promotions will begin from the Thanjavur Big Temple. Chiyan Vikram tweeted from his handle (which he now renamed as Aditha Karikalan asking actors Karthi, Jayam Ravi and Trisha if they’re joining the film tour too.

The translated tweet read: “ok Coming to Tanjore. Don’t you want Peruvudaiyar’s blessing before starting the film tour of Ettu Thikum Pulikodi Nadu? Kundavai, are you coming? Vandiyathevan will come. What, my friend, will you come? So bring that Arunmozhi too!”

To this, Karthi, who plays Vandiyathevan in PS-1, replied: “Prince, the fatigue of travelling from Tanjore to Lanka is not over yet. As I am suffering from fever I want to work from home. I will talk to the princess on a video call and say sorry. Pls excuse me.”

Amused by this conversation, the netizens commented that Vandiyathevan started talking in English.
