Cinema-Snippets: Banaras, the next big Kannada film & Mohanlal’s Monster going on sets this month

The songs shot at the holy Kasi have been released on the internet and have been receiving a great response.
Banaras is all set to be released in Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Hindi and Malayalam languages.

Fahadh Faasil’s next

RB Chowdury of Super Good Films, who is producing Godfather with Tollywood Megastar Chiranjeevi, has announced the 96th movie from his banner— Hanuman Gear.

The movie is to be directed by Sudheesh Sanka and stars Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil.

The movie was announced on Onam and the poster shows Faasil in action mode atop a jeep.

Faasil’s Malayankunju was average at the box office and is currently streaming on OTT.

Faasil has picked up popularity in the south after Pushpa-The Rise.

Alone and Monster by Mohanlal

Malayalam superstar Mohanlal has also released posters of his two upcoming films on Onam.

Monster, directed by Vysakh, has Udaykrishnan of Pulimurugan as the screenplay writer.

The film might release on 29 September. The official announcement is awaited.

Mohanlal’s second film Alone is being directed by Shaji Kailas. The duo is working together after their last movie Red Chillies, 12 years ago. 

Alone is set to have a straight OTT release, according to Kailas.

The movie features a single actor, Mohanlal, and is shot inside an apartment, said Kailas, who felt that the theatre audience might find the narration slow.

Simha’s Ravana Kalyanam to have pan-India release

Bobby Simha and Sandeep Madhav’s new multi-lingual romantic mass entertainer Ravana Kalyanam had a grand launch in Hyderabad. Maddhu Kiran is the writer and director of the movie.

Actress Deepsika and newcomer Ritu Gayatri are the female leads of the movie.

Actors Rajendra Prasad, Chatru, Rajkumar Kasi Reddy, Madhusuthan, Kundu Sudarsan, Anand, Mani Prabhu, Sarath Ravi and others are seen as the supporting cast.

Radhan is the music composer and the cinematography is being done by Siddam Manohar.

Bhavani Prasad and Srikanth Patnaik have been roped in for dialogues and editing, respectively.

Reshmi Simha and Arunkumar Surapaneni are producing the movie under Mudras Film Factory and Halcyon Movies.

It is being produced in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada languages and jointly presented by Simha and Alluri Suresh.

Aha Tamil, D Company team up for OTT movie

OTT platform Aha Tamil in association with KV Durai’s D Company has launched an untitled movie, Production #4, which is to be directed by debutant director Karthik Srinivasa.

The movie is led by actors Charlie, Sethupathi actor Linga, Gayathrie Shankar of Vikram fame, and Abernathi.

Vivek Prasanna, KP Deena, Nakkallites Dhanam are to be seen in prominent roles.

While the music is being composed by Shakti Balaji, Madan Christopher has been roped in for cinematography and MSP Madhavan will lead the art department. 

Gayathrie, who has done a prominent role in the blockbuster Vikram starring Kamal Haasan and Vijay Sethupathi, is currently the toast of Malayalam cinema.

Meanwhile, Abarnathi, known for her presence in the reality show Enga Veetu Mapillai, has won critical acclaim for her acting skills in the role of a village girl in Thean.

The D Company has produced films like Easwaran, Jai and Kurtam Kurame and a web series Kuthub Batu which was released on Aha and got the success talk.

The opening ceremony of the new film was held in Chennai. Director Seenu Ramasamy provided the clap at the event and director Brahma shot the first look.

Tamil movies like Mamanidhan, Kruthi Atom, and recently released movies like Jeevi 2 on Aha Tamil have been receiving a  great response from the audience. 

Aha, which has been running with 100 percent exclusive entertainment features for Tamilians ​​worldwide, has started producing exclusive works in Tamil recently.

Soon, the entertainment game show Sarkar with Jeeva featuring actor Jeeva would be published on the OTT platform.

After the huge success of its film Payanigal Adishtiwaum, Aha is gearing up with a new film, Ratta Saatchi, in association with Turmeric Media.
