The first look of the movie was released by leading directors like Subbaraj, Vineeth Srinivasan, Kiranraj and Tarun Bhaskar, and the official release date was announced by Sai Pallavi, Manju Warrier and Samyukta Hegde.

Aparna Purohit, Head of India Originals, Prime Video, said: “Ammu is special to us for many reasons. Not only is this our first Telugu original film, but it’s an important and relevant story that focuses on the strength and resilience of women, and it also cements our next collaboration with Karthik Subbaraj after Buddham Puduk Kalai and Mahan.“

Subbaraj said: “Ammu is a great work beyond being a revenge thriller. The film is rooted in drama, coupled with the unpredictability of life, which keeps the audience on the edge of their seats. It was brilliantly performed by the best artists in the industry with Aishwarya, Naveen and Simha. I appreciate Charukesh Sekar for bringing this emotionally important story while keeping the emotional core intact.”

Yuvan said Ameen and he were badminton players, and they knew each other through the sport. He recalled an incident where Ameen and his father Rahman were at an awards ceremony. As Rehman was preparing to leave after receiving his award, Ameen told his father he wanted stay back to see his friend Yuvan, too, receive an award.

Ameen, Yuvan said, often sang to him the songs that he composed. And now he has received a song, though he is yet to tune it. He revealed that he would, in the near future, do an album with Ameen.

Yuvan also spoke about the song he composed for the International Film Festival of India that is about generations in music. It has lyrics written by his uncle and music composer Gangai Amaran, and his pal Venkat Prabhu (also Amaran’s son) suggested that his brother Premgi Amaren do the singing. Musicians Karthik Raja and Bhavatharani were also involved in the project.

This is second coming together of the trio within a month. Earlier, in Chennai, Atlee’s birthday celebrations saw Vijay and Shah Rukh at the event.
