OTT Platform ZEE5 has announced that its highly-anticipated Tamil original docu-series Koose Munisamy Veerappan, based on late sandalwood smuggler Veerappan, will be released on 14 December.
The series was initially scheduled to be aired on Friday, 8 December.
In a statement, ZEE5 said it postponed the premiere to 14 December in the wake of the recent Chennai floods, which led to widespread power outages and significantly affected the city’s infrastructure.
“The release date has been pushed to prioritize the safety and well-being of the audience, ensuring an optimal viewing experience. Koose Munisamy Veerappan is now set to premiere exclusively on ZEE5 on December 14th,” the OTT platform announced.
Koose Munisamy Veerappan is touted to be a gripping exploration into the enigmatic life and notorious legacy of the infamous forest bandit Koose Munisamy Veerappan.
The docu-series intricately weaves together real-life footage and firsthand accounts from those who were intimately connected to Veerappan, as well as officials who relentlessly pursued him.
What sets this series apart is its distinctive narrative, primarily articulated by Veerappan himself, providing viewers with an unprecedented and intimate look into his life.
The plot delves into the complex dynamics surrounding Veerappan’s criminal endeavours, shedding light on his impact on local communities and the challenges of law enforcement.
The series also promises to reveal unknown truths, presenting a fresh perspective on one of India’s most elusive and intriguing fugitives.
