The Music Academy in Chennai issues a statement on the health condition of the singer following a request from the latter’s family.

The Music Academy in Chennai today, 24 March, revealed that popular Carnatic and playback singer Bombay Jayashri underwent surgery for Aneurysm after suffering a health setback while touring the United Kingdom.
Aneurysm is an excessive localized swelling of the wall of an artery.
In a statement, the Music Academy said the immensely respected singer was stable and recovering well in the UK and that “she requires rest for a couple of days.”
The statement was issued following a request from Bombay Jayashri’s family.
The Academy added that her family also requested privacy and the support of her fans and well-wishers during this period.
The Music Academy also requested people to “ignore messages circulating on social media platforms.”
The statement comes in the wake of rumours doing the rounds that Bombay Jayashri suffered a brain haemorrhage in her hotel room in London and that she was in a coma.
Rumours were also doing the rounds that the popular singer was found in an unconscious state in her hotel room and that she had to be rushed to the hospital.
