Director Atlee’s commercial entertainer Jawan, featuring Bollywood Badshaah Shah Rukh Khan, Vijay Sethupathi, and Nayanthara in the lead, has set a new box office record.
It grossed a whopping ₹129.6 crore worldwide on its opening day. Interestingly, this is the biggest opening any Hindi film has had until now.
Confirming the numbers, Atlee tweeted: “The biggest opening day in the history of Hindi cinema. Worldwide gross of ₹129.6 crore.”
He also wrote, “God is so kind. Thank you everyone. Thank you for the Massy-ive love.”

Meanwhile, trade analyst Taran Adarsh also confirmed that Jawan shattered records to take the title of “the biggest opener among Hindi films in India”. He gave the break up for the film in India on social media platform X.
He wrote: ” Jawan is sensational. Creates history. Jawan hits the ball out of the stadium and shatters all previous records. Biggest opener [Hindi films] in India.”

The trade analyst confirmed that the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer was doing well in states like Assam and West Bengal. He also gave the film’s numbers for the opening day in some International markets.
He wrote: “Shah Rukh Khan proves his supremacy overseas. Jawan creates havoc in international markets.”
