“It was a bomb blast sequence where Sanjay Dutt sustained minor injuries to his elbow and his face. Soon, the shooting was stopped with Sanjay was taken for medication and, thereafter, the Khalnayak actor left for Mumbai to rest,” sources told South First.

The film team was wrapping up the first schedule of the film.

The film team is yet to confirm whether the incident took place on Tuesday evening, 11 April, or 7 April, as the actor — on his social media handles — can be seen sharing photographs of his recent jungle safari on the occasion of his friend’s Paresh Ghelani’s birthday.

Sources close to the film team said the incident occurred on 7 April.

The actor has, however, denied he was injured in the shooting of the film.

During the teaser launch of KD – The Devil, Sanjay Dutt shared that post the KGF Chapter 2 experience, he is willing to work in more South Indian films.

“The kind of passion, love, and energy South Indian filmmakers put in during the making of a film is phenomenal. Moreover, the element of heroism in South Indian films, along with quality and content-oriented ventures, is amazing,” Dutt said.

Directed by Prem of Jogi fame, the film stars Dhruva Sarja, Crazy Star Ravichandran in a special role, alongside Sanjay Dutt and Shilpa Shetty. KD will mark Shilpa Shetty’s return to the Kannada film industry after a gap of 18 years.

Shetty’s last film in Kannada was Auto Shankar, starring alongside Real Star Upendra, which released in 2005.
