While Vinay Sampath has been detained under the cheating case, the cases filed against Shanmukh are yet to be known.

The Narsingi police detained actor Shanmukh, who rose to fame through YouTube and Bigg Boss-Telugu, along with his brother Vinay Sampath in Hyderabad on Thursday, 22 February for possession of drugs.
Their involvement in the drug case came to light incidentally while the cops went to their house to investigate another case registered against Shankmukh’s brother Vinay.
A woman had filed a complaint against Vinay, alleging that he cheated her on the pretext of marriage.
“We got a complaint from a woman stating that a man based in Vizag had cheated her on the pretext of marriage, as part of the same investigation, we reached the accused Vinay Sampath’s house,” the Narsingi police told the media.
He said, “We found the accused Sampath there, incidentally we found out that the house is his brother’s (Shanmukh), who is a YouTuber.”
The police officer further added, “With respect to the case filed by the woman, we will file charges as per IPC 420, and 376 against Vinay”
About the drugs found in the possession of Shanmukh, the cop said: “As part of the search and seizure we found the NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) content, and cases will be filed accordingly.”
While Vinay Sampath has been detained under the cheating case, the cases filed against Shanmukh are yet to be known.
According to a statement released by the Hyderabad police, Vinay Sampath’s father KSS Appa Rao has also been arrested and sent to remand.
More details will be known only after the investigation.
In 2021, Shanmukh was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol in Hyderabad. He was taken into custody after he rammed his car into three parked cars and two bikes.
