Kamal Haasan bed rest

Kamal Haasan’s health has put a question mark on the weekend episodes of the Bigg Boss 6 season, being telecast in Star Vijay.

On Wednesday, 23 November, the actor visited ace director K Viswanath at his residence in Hyderabad to seek his blessings. Their photos went viral after Kamal shared them on his Instagram account.

However, after returning to Chennai, he was admitted to Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre (SRMC) where he was treated for fever and advised to bed rest.

On Thursday, 24 November, Kamal went back to his Alwarpet residence. The TV crews caught him waving to the fans outside his house.

Meanwhile, the health bulletin released by the SRMC revealed that the actor has been advised complete bed rest for the next few days.

This, in turn, has set off speculations over his anchoring the weekend episodes of the Bigg Boss 6 Tamil show.

Kamal devotes a few hours on Saturdays and Sundays at the EVP Film City where the reality show house is located. Last season, Ramakrishnan stepped in as anchor after the former tested positive for Covid-19.

However, he came back to hand over the job to Silambarasan as he had to finish Vikram.

Now, it is to be seen if he recovers before Saturday after the bed rest or shoots his part for Bigg Boss 6 from his home.

Meanwhile, unconfirmed reports say that lyricist Snehan, who was a prominent figure in MMN and ex Bigg Boss contestant, was summarily sacked by the actor.

Varisu makers get show-cause notice

The Animal Welfare Board issued a show-cause notice to the makers of Thalapathy Vijay’s Varisu asking them to explain why they used elephants in the shoot, without seeking prior permission.

Following this, the movie’s shooting came to a grinding halt.

On Wednesday, 23 November, a couple of TV channel reporters who arrived at the Varisu set were punched in their faces by the Vijay Makkal Iyakkam members for enquiring about the elephants found on the film sets.

The news channels beamed shots of the mahouts walking with the elephants inside the location. The Animal Welfare Board received a complaint for using elephants in the movie shoot without permission.

Subsequently, the officials issued a show-cause notice to Varisu makers asking why they didn’t submit a pre-shoot application and why action should not be taken against the producers.

Even as the Board’s notice is trending on social media and the film’s shoot came to a halt.

Thalapathy Vijay fined

Meanwhile, actor Vijay who drove to the Makkal Iyakkam functionary meeting was fined Rs 500 for using tinted glass in his car. The news broke after a TV channel telecasted the actor’s car journey.

Another clip that is attracting caustic comments on social media is the video of the fan club functionaries falling at the feet of Bussy Anand, ex-Pondicherry MLA and the Secretary of Vijay’s fan club.

Vijay convened the meeting to meet his fan club members as part of whipping up a frenzy ahead of Varisu’s release.

The movie is clashing with Ajith’s Thunivu at the box office for Pongal 2023. Interestingly, in a tweet, Ajith asked his fans to not nurture hatred or jealousy and went philosophical.

While Varisu’s single is out and another song is expected this weekend, Thunivu’s single is yet to be released.
