Beginning will be Asia’s first split-screen film and it is coming from Kollywood. The movie will present two stories on a split screen throughout the runtime.

In 2012, Good Night Good Morning attempted a similar feat but it was done partially.

Beginning’s trailer was released at the just-concluded Chennai International Film Festival.

Debutant Jagan Vijaya is the director. Vijaya Muthusamy is producing it under the banner of Lefty Manual Creations.

Director Lingusamy’s home banner Thirrupathi Brothers is presenting it.

Vinoth Kishan (of Naan Mahan Alla, Imaikkaa Nodigal, Andhaghaaram, and Kutty Story fame) and Gouri Kishan (of Master, 96, and Karnan fame) are the lead actors.

KS Sundarmurthy is the music director and Veerakumar is the cinematographer.

Seven Screen Studio to distribute Vaathi in TN

Seven Screen Studio bagged the Tamil Nadu distribution rights of Dhanush’s upcoming Tamil-Telugu bilingual film Vaathi/Sir.

The film is releasing on 13 February next year. It is produced by Sithara Entertainments, a leading Telugu film production house.

Dhanush is playing a schoolteacher named Balamurugan in Vaathi, and the movie is reportedly set in the 1990s. Samyuktha is the female lead.

Venky Atluri is the director. GV Prakash is the music composer, and Yuvaraj is the cinematographer.

As of now, Prakash is composing the music for Vaathi’s second single “Nadodi Mannan”. Yugabharathy wrote its lyrics.

Incidentally, Seven Screen Studio recently acquired the Tamil Nadu distribution rights of Vijay’s Varisu, a Telugu-Tamil bilingual produced by Hyderabad-based Dil Raju.

Sun TV to telecast Varisu audio launch for NY

Sun TV is all set to telecast the audio release function of Thalapathy Vijay’s Varisu on New Year, said a source. The event will be held at Nehru Stadium in Chennai on 24 December.

Though Sun TV tweeted that it would telecast the event, it did not reveal the date.

Entry passes for the audio launch are being distributed through the Vijay Makkal Iyakkam. Bussy Anand, head of the Iyakkam, confirmed this on his social media account.

However, there are reports that the passes are being sold to the highest bidders.

Meanwhile, scammers are reportedly looting people who are looking for entry passes by demanding ₹4,000-5,000 per head.

Following this, the Iyakkam cautioned fans against falling prey to such scams and requested them to send screenshots of frauds who are resorting to such deceitful acts.

Mammootty’s 421st film is with Roby Varghese

Mammootty is all set to act in a film to be directed by debutant Roby Varghese Raj.

Roby Varghese Raj worked as the cinematographer for movies like My Great Father, Love Action Drama, Puthiya Niyamum, and Captain.

Mammootty is also producing the flick which will be an investigative thriller.

The movie also marks the 421st film of the actor.

The pooja ceremony will take place on 26 December and the shooting will begin on 1 January, 2023.
