Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Veera Simha Reddy, an action entertainer, will be released on 12 January.
Though it is already known that the film will be released for Pongal next year, the Sankranti frenzy kicked off in Tollywood after the makers of this high-budget movie announced the release date.
Besides Balakrishna’s Veera Simha Reddy, Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Waltair Veeraiah, Tamil star Vijay’s Varisu, and young hero Akhil’s Agent are releasing for Sankranti, making it a busy season for film lovers.
While it has already been announced by distributors of Varisu that this multilingual film will be released on 12 January, Veera Simha Reddy’s makers also locked the same date.
The makers of Waltair Veeraiah and Agent are yet to announce the release dates, though it is confirmed that they are engaged in the high-stake Sankranti race.

Meanwhile, the Jai Balayya song from Veera Simha Reddy, which was released last week, garnered 12 million views in 10 days on YouTube.
Though this Thaman S musical was trolled for its resemblance with Vijayashanti’s Osey Ramulamma song, it is gradually getting popular as a mass song.
Senior writer Ram Jogayya Sastry wrote the lyrics of the Jai Balayya song. Kareemullah sang it.
While the composing of all the songs has been completed, the Veera Simha Reddy team has begun working on the background music.
While Thaman is engrossed in BGM, director Gopichand Malineni is busy giving the final touches to the commercial entertainer.

Balakrishna is romancing Shruti Hassan for the first time in this mass-action entertainer. Tamil heroine Varalaxmi Sarath Kumar is playing the role of Balakrishna’s sister. Kannada star Dunia Vijay is also playing an important role.
As Balakrishna has a dedicated fanbase, Veera Simha Reddy is considered one of the much-awaited movies capable of creating a buzz at the box office for Sankranti 2023.
