AR Rahman and Prabhu Deva team up after 25 years for ARRPD6

After 25 long years, music sensation AR Rahman and dancing guru Prabhu Deva are joining hands together for a movie. Tentatively titled ARRPD6, the film is written and directed by Manoj NS.

Rahman unveiled the poster and announced the project on Friday, 22 March. The poster showcases Prabhu Deva’s popular still from the “Muqabla” song and a golden silhouette of Rahman in the backdrop in the sky.

ARRPD6 will have Prabhu Deva, Yogi Babu, and Malayalam actors Aju Varghese and Arjun Ashokan in major roles. Motta Rajendran and Redin Kingsley are also part of the cast.

It is produced by Manoj NS, Divya Manoj, and Dr Praveen Elak, and presented by Behindwoods.

The music is composed by Rahman and the cinematography is by Anup V Shylaya.

The shooting of the film will commence soon. This is the sixth project of Rahman and Prabhu Deva.

As a result, ARRPD6 is drawing huge expectations from the audience. Fans hope that the crazy combo will recreate the magic of their previous works and the 90s’ magic will be reborn.

Rahman’s tunes and Prabhu Deva’s dance moves were a crazy combination in the 1990s.

The “Muqabla” and “Urvashi” songs from the Tamil movie Kadhalan (1994) were sensational hits. You cannot but groove to the music and try to replicate Prabhu Deva’s dance steps from the songs. The Hindi and Telugu dubbed versions were also blockbusters.

Prabhu Deva and Nagma’s scintillating dance moves in the flick inspired many youngsters to pursue dancing as a career back then.

Similarly, songs like “Chiku Buku Raile” from Gentleman (1993), “Romeo Aatam” from Mr Romeo (1996), and “Petta Rap” from Kadhalan, which also featured the duo’s combination, topped the chartbusters for several years.

Rahman’s songs for Prithviraj Sukumaran’s upcoming film Aadujeevitham are trending on the internet. The movie will be released in multiple languages on 29 March.

Meanwhile, Prabhu Deva is working on Vishnu Manchu’s forthcoming flick Kannappa. He recently joined the team in New Zealand where they filmed a song and a few key sequences.
