Arjun Rampal to debut in Tollywood with Balakrishna’s next

The Bollywood actor joined the team in Hyderabad; the untitled film is directed by Anil Ravipudi and produced by Shine Screens banner.

Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal is all set to make a debut in Tollywood with veteran star Nandamuri Balakrishna’s upcoming feature film that has been tentatively titled #NBK108. Rampal, 50, will play the antagonist in the project, the makers revealed on Wednesday, 10 May.

The untitled film is directed by Anil Ravipudi and produced by Shine Screens’ Sahu Garapati and Harish Peddi. The production banner shared the news about Rampal’s casting on their official Twitter handle.

“Team #NBK108 welcomes the talented National Award-winning actor @rampalarjun on board as the antagonist in his Telugu debut NataSimham #NandamuriBalakrishna @AnilRavipudi @MsKajalAggarwal @sreeleela14 @MusicThaman @sahugarapati7 @harish_peddi @YoursSKrishna,” the post read.

The makers also released a short video where Arjun Rampal delivered a popular dialogue of Balakrishna in Telugu. Director Anil Ravipudi can also be seen in the video.

Arjun Rampal, who played negative roles in Hindi films such as Om Shanti Om and Ra.One, said he is looking forward to working on the movie. He is already in Hyderabad to take part in the shooting.

“Thank you for having me. Super excited. It’s gonna be mad fun,” the “Rock On!!” star wrote.

Actor-politician Balakrishna is regarded as one of the top actors in Tollywood. He has several blockbuster hits like Aditya 369, Legend, Simha, Narasimha Naidu, and Sri Rama Rajyam to his credit.

#NBK108 will also feature Kajal Aggarwal and Sreeleela in crucial roles.

Arjun Rampal was supposed to debut in Tollywood with Pawan Kalyan’s Hari Hara Veera Mallu. But he couldn’t take up the project due to date issues. Following this, the makers of Hari Hara Veera Mallu roped in Bobby Deol.

His film The Rapist, written and directed by Aparna Sen won the best director award at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne in 2022. It jointly won the Kim Jiseok Award at the 26th Busan International Film Festival in 2021.
