National Award-winning actress Aparna Balamurali has felt that there is no need for one to take offence at the negative remarks made by a character in a movie.

“We all are actors and we have to deliver dialogues. There is no need to take offence to that. The film industry will gradually adopt this change.”

She was reacting to Edavela Babu’s criticism of Vineeth Sreenivasan’s recent release, Mukundan Unni Associates.

During a session at the recently-concluded literary festival in Kerala, Edavela Babu commented that he was amused at how Mukundan Unni Associates got a censor certificate as it gave a negative vibe.

Aparna Balamurali was addressing the media at a promotional event, held on 22 January, for her upcoming flick Thankam.

The film is slated for release on 26 February. It is directed by Saheed Arafath and produced by Fahadh Faasil, Dileesh Pothan, and Syam Pushkaran under Bhavana Studios banner.

Aparna Balamurali said she plays the wife of Vineeth Sreenivasan in the film and claimed to have essayed a good role in Thankam. She got less screen time though.

Vineeth Sreenivasan told the media that “everybody has the right to criticise. We need to take criticism just like we take appreciation.”

The actor portrayed the central character in Mukundun Unni Associates, directed by Abhinav Sunder Nayak and produced by Ajith Roy.

Vineeth also revealed that he will be soon directing a movie. “I have a story in my mind. I haven’t written it, but I want to write it.”

The actor-doctor’s directorial venture Hridayam (2022) won two Kerala State awards and was declared one of the top-rated Indian movies of 2022 by IMDb.

On a funny note, Biju Menon said that Thankam won’t have a clash with Shahrukh Khan’s Pathaan (releasing on 25 January. “If the content of our movie is good, it will work.”
