Aishwarya Rajinikanth’s next directorial will be launched in the first week of November with a pooja, said a source close to the director.
The movie will star Atharvaa in the lead role and will be bankrolled by Lyca Productions. Superstar Rajinikanth is likely to play a cameo in this prestigious film.
The upcoming film is the third directorial in her career and the first after her separation from Dhanush.
In between, she directed a video album released on Valentine’s Day.
The details of the rest of the cast and crew will be announced soon.
It is also yet to be known if Anirudh Ravichander will be roped in as the music director. Anirudh had a big hit with Aishwarya’s directorial venture 3, featuring Dhanush and Shruti Haasan as the lead pair.
One of the songs in the flick, Why This Kolaveri Di… went viral across the globe in 2012, garnering over 300 million views on YouTube alone.
The film 3, which was dubbed in Telugu, became a box office sensation in the then-undivided Andhra Pradesh.

In 2015, Aishwarya Rajinikanth directed Vai Raja Vai, starring Gautham Karthik and Priya Anand. This was comparatively a modest hit.
Her next outing as director was Cinema Veeran (2017), a documentary on stunt choreographers in the Tamil film industry. It was produced by Dhanush and had a voice-over by Rajinikanth. It is streaming on the OTT platform Disney+ Hotstar.
Dhanush is currently doing the bilingual film Vaathi (in Tamil; it is Sir in Telugu), directed by Venky Atluri. It will be released on 2 December.
