Aadujeevitham grosses ₹150 crore worldwide

Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Aadujeevitham (The Goat Life) has grossed ₹150 crore at the global box office in 25 days.

Released on 28 March, the movie collected ₹100 crore in just 9 days, thus becoming the fastest Malayalam film to enter the elite club.

Aadujeevitham is also the second Malayalam movie to collect ₹150 crore at the box office this year after Manjummel Boys, which grossed ₹230 crore worldwide.

Interestingly, the three ₹150-crore flicks in Malayalam Aadujeevitham, Manjummel Boys, and 2018: Everyone is A Hero (2023) are survival thrillers. The universal theme could be the reason for the audience to connect with this theme.

According to the Sacnilk tracking website, Aadujeevitham collected around ₹71 crore at the Kerala box office. It grossed ₹92 crore in India and over ₹56.5 crore in the overseas market. It earned $3.5 million gross in UAE and other GCC countries.

The film collected a gross of ₹74 lakh on its 25th day (21 April).

Aadujeevitham registered a steady collection since its theatrical release though Fahadh Faasil’s Aavesham caught the fancy of audiences and collected around ₹90 crore worldwide so far.

Varshangalkku Shesham, too, saw a good collection and is nearing ₹60 crore.

Interestingly, Aadujeevitham is the first ₹100 crore film of Prithviraj and the sixth Malayalam flick to enter the elite club. The club members include Pulimurugan (2016), Lucifer (2019), 2018: Everyone is A Hero (2023), Manjummel Boys (2024), and Premalu (2024).

Aadujeevitham is universal: Blessy

Meanwhile, during a get-together organised to celebrate the 25th day of Aadujeevitham, Blessy said the movie had a universal appeal and hence, the audience could connect with it well. They felt it was relatable and could understand it without any language barrier.

He said he wanted to deliver a quality product to audiences across the globe which was why Academy Award winner AR Rahman was roped in as the music director. The entire crew members were well-known in their respective fields.
