Sixty sovereigns of gold and diamond jewellery have been stolen from the residence of director Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth in Chennai.

She lodged a complaint with the Teynampet police who registered a case under Section 381 of the IPC and launched an investigation.

In her complaint, the filmmaker revealed that she kept the jewellery — worth ₹about 3.60 lakhs — in her locker since 2019 after wearing it for her sister Soundarya’s wedding.

The valuables were moved from her St Mary’s Road residence to Dhanush’s CIT Nagar residence and then to her father Rajinikanth’s Poes Garden residence but were safe in the locker. But now, she found them missing.

Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth also mentioned that the three servants working in her house were well aware that the jewels were in the locker.

Aishwaryaa is currently busy helming Lal Salaam. The movie is produced by Lyca Productions and features Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth in the lead roles.

Lal Salaam also casts her father Rajinikanth in a special role.

The film marks Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth’s return to direction after seven long years. She has been travelling extensively for the shoot.

In fact, the director confirmed that she shot for 16 hours straight on the first day itself.

Last week, Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth took to social media to state that she was shooting at an age-old Amman temple.
