SGS toy testing laboratory opens in Bengaluru. (sgs.com)
World’s leading testing, inspection and certification company SGS announced the opening of a brand new toy testing laboratory in Bengaluru.
Spread across 3,500 sq. ft, the lab is now fully operational. It provides a suite of local and international testing services to meet growing demand from southern India’s toy manufacturing industry. The lab is located within SGS’s Softlines and Connectivity laboratory site in Bengaluru. The new facility complements the company’s existing toy testing lab at Manesar in Gurugram, North India.

The National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) granted the approval on 5 August, 2023. The capabilities of the new laboratory include physical and mechanical testing, chemical testing, flammability testing, electrical safety testing and labeling review.

SGS offers manufacturers, retailers and importers a one-stop solution to ensure their toy products comply with relevant regulations and quality standards. These include the EU toy directive and the US Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) amongst others.
A wide range of toys including dolls, plush toys, infant toys, ride-on and pull-along toys, magnetic and projectile toys, mouth actuated toys, games and figurines, construction toys, puzzles, creative art materials, electrical and battery-operated toys can be tested at the lab.
