The stalemate over NEET paper leak, and the police brutality continued on Tuesday, 28 July.
Synopsis: The adjournments came amid a debate on the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill. The Bill, introduced in the Lok Sabha on Monday, 27 July, hikes fines and punishment for those convicted of examination paper leaks. The Opposition has submitted 93 amendments to the Bill.
The deadlock over the NEET paper leak continued in both Houses of Parliament on Tuesday, 28 July. Minutes after the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha had convened, the Opposition parties protested against the use of pellet guns on agitating students, leading to a ruckus.
Following the ruckus, both Houses were adjourned till 2 pm.
It has been alleged that a Rapid Action Force trooper fired a pellet gun, injuring three, including a journalist, on 20 July.

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor said the Opposition would likely participate in the debate. He said Parliament must get back on track and ensure the concerns of India’s youth are heard.
Outside Parliament, both the NDA and the Opposition held separate demonstrations over the paper leak. NDA members targeted the Punjab government and Aam Aadmi Party chief Aravind Kejriwal. The BJP MPs alleged irregularities in an exam conducted in Punjab on 19 July, and demanded the resignation of the state education minister.
The Opposition demonstration highlighted the police excesses on students on 20 July.
