Andhra Pradesh Kadapa connection

It’s often pointed out that the PMO in New Delhi is filled with high-ranking officials from Gujarat, the home state of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

A similar situation has emerged in Andhra Pradesh too.

Many important positions in the government are held by someone from Kadapa, the district in the Rayalaseema region that is home to Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Newly appointed Chief Secretary KS Jawahar Reddy is from Kadapa. In fact, Jawahar Reddy has roots in Kasunuru village of Simhadripuram mandal, which comes under Jagan’s Assembly segment Pulivendula, a bastion of the YS family.

Also from Kadapa district is state DGP KV Rajendranath Reddy, as well as the all-powerful top aide of Jagan, Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, who is also advisor to the state government.

Not sure if it’s a mere coincidence or by design, the Kadapa flavour in the Andhra government is quite visible now, quipped a bureaucrat in the secretariat to South First.

Incidentally, all the big four also belong to the same Reddy community.
