Jagananna Goru Mudda scheme

Nobleman Cassius was convinced when he said, “The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars, But in ourselves, that we are underlings.”

The realisation that we are “underlings” often takes us to astrologers, who predict our future based on the stars under which we were born.

But seeking an astrologer’s “blessings” could kick up a storm, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy learnt recently.

The Opposition TDP alleged that Jagan’s close aides approached Karnataka-based astrologer Vijay Kumar, who is reportedly well-connected with the Who’s Who in Delhi.

It all began with a Telugu language daily reporting that Jagan’s men had approached the astrologer to bail his cousin YS Avinash Reddy out in the YS Viveka murder case.

Kadappa MP Avinash Reddy is under the CBI lens, probing the 15 March, 2019, murder of YS Vivekananda Reddy.

A special flight flew in Vijay Kumar for a meeting with Jagan at the latter’s camp office-cum-residence at Tadepalli. Navayuga Group chairman Chinta Visweswar Rao’s younger son Chinta Sasidhar accompanied him.

Jagan’s uncle and TTD chairman YV Subba Reddy confirmed the meeting. Vijay Kumar was incidentally in Vijayawada and Subba Reddy requested him to visit and bless Jagan.

Subba Reddy recalled that other spiritual gurus like Chinna Jeeyar and Swami Sawroopananda, too, had blessed Jagan.

The fuss over Vijay Kumar’s blessings has left the TTD chairman baffled. He recalled that a special flight had earlier taken the astrologer to Eenadu Group chairman Ramoji Rao’s relatives. Was it to lobby for Ramoji Rao, he wondered.

Vijaya Kumar of the Chamarajanagar district in South Karnataka also deals in granite. The astrologer was earlier seen accompanying the Presidents of India, Ramnath Kovind, and Draupadi Murmu, and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla during their visits to the Tirupati Tirumala Temple.
