It was one act that encapsulated the spirit of Indian Independence and camaraderie.

On Independence Day eve, Kannada actor Rachita Ram went to the Lalbagh Botanical Garden to attend a function. While going to the event, her car accidentally, brushed against an employee at the garden, pushing him aside. He was not injured.

The actor was apparently unaware of the incident — nor did she know that she had been papped. Later, on learning about the incident, she tried to contact the employee, something not many would do.

Her efforts paid off as she managed to find Rangappa. Ram apologised for the careless act of her driver and even shot a video with Rangappa. The video, posted on her social media handles, showed the actor and Rangappa wishing all a happy Independence Day.

It is not yet known which was more shocking and surprising for Rangappa: The accident or Ram’s act.

Netizens appreciated the actor’s simple act which conveyed a lot to all reckless drivers on Bengaluru roads: All are equal in an independent democracy.
