A large national media group, which recently came under the scanner of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for alleged violations of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA), is learnt to have deployed one of its seniormost journalists to broker peace with the BJP government at the Centre.

The journalist, a regular cheerleader for the BJP, met with one of the heavyweight ministers who had the clout to call off the hounds.

Only to be politely told that the “law would take take its own course”, an ominous phrase when it comes from the current dispensation.

The journalist then mustered the courage to put in a request with the PMO itself, only to be politely declined an appointment.

So much for journalistic clout!
