K. A. Shaji is a South India-based journalist who focuses on politics, human rights, the environment, livelihood, caste, and marginalised communities.
He was born in Wayanad, Kerala, and worked for the newspapers The Indian Express, The Times of India, The Hindu, The Hindustan Times, and The Telegraph, as well as the magazines Tehelka and Open.
He also wrote for Mongabay, The Huffington Post, People's Archive of Rural India, The Quint, India Ahead, Article 14, The Wire, The Scroll, Dainik Bhaskar, The News Minute, and Down to Earth on a regular basis.
Shaji has received the National Media Fellowship as well as the Sankriti Journalism Award.
