Jana Sena supremo Pawan Kalyan issued a stern warning to YSRCP leaders on Sunday, 27 November.

“Watch your words and actions. From now on, if you target those supporting me, remember that we will give it back after 2024,” he said.

“I will show what I can do in action, no talk. I will not talk about it now. I will show it in action. If you (YSRCP leaders) behave properly with us, we will reciprocate similarly. But if you try to target us, we will retort and respond in the same coin,” he said while addressing a meeting of party workers.

“All these days we maintained patience. It is not that we don’t know how to retort,” he added.

At the party headquarters in Mangalagiri on Sunday, Pawan Kalyan also distributed cheques of ₹1 lakh to each family whose houses were damaged in the demolition drive by the local civic authority in the Ippatam village, apparently due to road-widening work.

Thanking the residents of Ippatam for standing in support of him when no one else was willing to give land to the party to hold a meeting in March, Pawan Kalyan warned that henceforth he would not spare anyone who targeted his supporters.

‘Revolutionary Sena’

Responding to recent comments made by YSRCP chief and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Jana Sena chief said his was not just a “Rowdy Sena” but a “Revolutionary Sena”, and would strategically destroy the YSRCP’s feudalistic fort.

Stating that henceforth his moves would be strategic as the 2024 polls are crucial, he sought public support for him.

Pawan Kalyan also said he didn’t need support from Delhi — referring to a stonewalled possible tie-up with the BJP — and that he would fight it out in Andhra Pradesh against the YSRCP.

“Unlike YSRCP leaders, who go to Delhi and gossip about me or complain about me, I don’t talk about them whenever I meet the BJP central leadership,” said Kalyan.

“I talk about the overall development of the state and mankind. I really don’t understand why the YSRCP, which has 151 MLAs and around 30 MPs, targets me, who lost an election. That shows the strength of the Jana Sena,” he claimed.

“From now on, my moves will be strategic and I seek all your support. I will stand in support strongly to those who stood with me whenever they are in trouble,” he added.

Ippatam march still fresh in people’s memory

In an interesting turn to the ongoing Ippatam demolition saga, the Andhra Pradesh High Court on Thursday, 24 November, reprimanded the petitioners who approached it over their demolished houses and also imposed a fine of ₹1 lakh each on all 14 of them.

The Ippatam village of the Tadepalli Mandal in the Guntur district shot to fame a few days ago when Pawan Kalyan marched to the village in filmy style after portions of some houses were demolished by civic authorities citing road-widening and other developmental works.

Pawan Kalyan termed the demolitions an act of political vendetta by the YSRCP government in the state as Ippatam’s villagers, in March this year, provided space to the Jana Sena to hold a public meeting to commemorate the party’s foundation day.
